About MeI'm a Liverpudlian who has been settled in the South West for a number of years. I'm a mother of two teenagers; I am an artist, Reiki Master/teacher, Adult Ed Teacher and Workshop Facilitator. I've been on a path of transformation since my late teens, practising a daily routine of meditation, yoga and reiki. I'm trained in holistic massage, reiki and yoga. I have been been inspired by and worked with many amazing women -and men (including Starhawk, Monica Sjoo, Carolyn Hillyer, William Bloom, Chris James to name drop a few!) And have worked in the voluntary sector with women with addictions, been a drugs worker, counsellor and a community artist. In 2005 and 2006 I was nominated and short listed for the Women in Enterprise Award and Special Recognition Award for my work in the community. I work with individuals, groups and communities; offering the Reiki Classes, Wise Women's Workshops; Winter and Summer Gatherings, 'Celebrating Menarche'- mother and daughter days, rites of passage ceremonies with young women and 'Power of Menstruation' menstrual awareness courses . My workshops are requested at various community events across Bristol to celebrate International Women's Day and I've been invited on to local radio to discuss women's health and environmental issues. I help to organise a camp in May- Sacred Arts Camp where amongst other things I help facilitate a huge Tribal Menarche/Rite of Passage Ceremony for the young women of the camp and my husband and I facilitate the teens area of the Unicorn Camps in August. I am dedicated to my own journey of self growth and to supporting others on theirs. Someone once described me as (*blush*) Rachael is a magical character and her uniquely inspiring approach includes a huge belief in people and their ability to shine and achieve their dreams with encouragement, she helps transform aspirations and dreams into reality. This is enhanced by her special ability to reach people with a very down to earth, informal approach. Wise Women's Workshops are renowned for being full of glue, glitter and sparkle, laughter and chocolate. I use art, movement, chanting, silence, visualisation and ceremony to help transform aspirations and dreams into reality. I create safe, warm and inspiring spaces for people to celebrate themselves and each other. These spaces are unlike any other personal development programmes offering a unique experience in a magical atmosphere. Some workshops and training are women only with the exception of Reiki Classes which are open to both men and women who are open to new perspectives to life! My original hand made merchandise reflects my love of people and the planet- my art work is available as cards (each full of sparkly things and affirmations), prints and I have my own set of daily affirmation cards to inspire and empower. I have designed the most environmentally friendly sanitary wear imaginable! Pads are made from organic cotton and hemp- and are pretty as well as kind to Mother Earth. I'm a member of The Red Web Foundation. Along with other women such as Vicki Noble, Tamara Slayton, Christiane Northrup, we form a network of women committed to promoting menstrual health in their personal and professional lives. The Foundation is a member-run, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a positive societal view of girls' and women's bodies and menstrual cycles from first menstruation (called menarche) through menopause. These 'menstrual health advocates' offer a diverse range of products, workshops, and educational materials and include artists, mental health professionals, businesswomen, mums, students, teachers, and health care providers. The Foundation is committed to including a diversity of cultural views and experiences of the menstrual life-cycle. We honour individual and cultural practices of the present day and the past which promote a healthy outlook for women and society. I am a Member of the International Guild of Professional Practitioners/Embody (membership number P16489) and am available to teach Reiki Classes or to run Workshops for your group. It seeks to hold nothing not wishing to be held. It seeks to give nothing not joyously welcomed. And it is free. Love is that which is free, for freedom is the essence of what God is, and love is God, expressed.
Lives based on having are less free than lives based on doing or being.
You become what you know yourself to be
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.
