About MeMy conscious spiritual journey began at the age of 4, when despite being born into an agnostic household, I knew there was something "more". Since then life has led me along many paths in the quest to find my true reason for being here. These included a wide variety of people jobs ranging from music licensing, cleaning, selling encyclopaedias to senior human resources which I left when it no longer fitted with my personal values. For the past twenty seven years I have been a psychotherapist both in NHS, Corporate and Private Practice. Then in 2004 after a life-changing "aha" experience, I entered an intense two year training with the Seminary of the London Interfaith Foundation and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in July 2006. Since then my Ministry has included creating beautiful, personalised ceremonies (weddings, baby blessings, mixed-faith ceremonies, civil partnerships and funerals) for those who want a sacred spiritual element for the milestones of life, rather than something specifically religious (www.simplydivineceremonies.com). My training also took my psychotherapy work to new levels. As part of putting something back, I am also a voluntary police chaplain, and voluntary chaplain/welfare officer for a local branch of the Royal British Legion. And as I firmly believe............the journey continues! PS: "Do I Kneel or Do I Bow?: What You Need to Know When Attending Religious Occasions" has just been published in the UK and US, by Kuperard, London. It's a multi-faith book covering 8 religions and is not only an easy to read guide if you are invited to be a guest at an unfamiliar faith ceremony, but full of additional information such as background/beliefs; sacred texts; places of worship; services; festivals and holy days together with how they are celebrated/commemorated, and a comprehensive guide to the ceremonies of birth, coming of age, marriage and death.
