My Philosophy On Life: Is to understand the world I'm in and live in as balanced a way I can with all things. Sounds trite to some but If we dont get our act together we,re out of here.
Try to stay open to new ideas and to see what is new and unfolding in the world.
My Interests: eating good food, walking our dogs: occasional Aikido, Tai chi and Che qoung: going to the country : and eventually hoping to sail to far away places by means of the wind.
My Inspirations: My dog Joe (see pic), E schumacher, Karl Marx, bits of Leon Trotsky, Lao Tzu, Moriehu Ueshiba, and those people you see who have nothing in this world, but who smile in the face of their adversity and live with such true nobility and courage .
Music I Love: Doors : Richard Ashcroft :Dick Gaughan: Simple Minds: John Martyn, Snow Patrol, Dance to Trance, Scissor Sisters, Keane, Alison Krauss, ..... too many to mention .
Movies I Love: For some reason I like old black and white war movies though not for the gratuitous violence . Documentary film, Recent movie that made me cry? ............Has to be Saving Private Ryan and oh yes The Green Mile both with Tom Hanks whose matured into a really fine actor in my view.
TV Shows I Love: Coast and Planet Earth . Fly on the Wall stuff ( because I'm nosey), Ali G, . Borat, Extras . Dispatches anything to do with Global Warming
Books I Love: Can't think at the moment . But the Russian dictionary of Philosophy is a good one( how sad is that), Cliffe Slaughters book on' Dialectical materialism ' and Engels ' The Dialectics of Nature'. Used to read a lot more in my youth ....am not particularly esoteric ...but I dont dismiss anything out of hand.
Places I Love: Upper West Coast of Scotland generally, The Lakes, Cornwall ( though Ive only sailed to one wee village then back on the boat). Parts of France, the Ardeche is Great! Fantastic for skinny dipping and canoeing (all at the same time).
