More About Me
Location: Wells, Somerset, England
Occupation: Coach, writer, educator. Downshifting, sustainable living, sustainable business.
My Philosophy On Life: My main emphasis in life is on "quality of life" rather than on "standard of living." I believe very much in living in the now, being present, being fully conscious. I'm also a great believer in life as a vehicle for personal and spiritual growth.
My Interests: Sustainable living, sustainable business, downshifting, home education, Buddhism, yoga, Ayurveda, health and wellbeing, people watching, cooking (particularly cakes!), being in nature especially amongst trees, reading, swimming, permaculture and organic gardening
My Inspirations: Am finding John Welwood particularly spot-on at the moment (see books). See also "books I love".
Music I Love: Classical - romantic, baroque, some contemporary., Modern - Sting, Eva Cassidy, Eric Clapton, Julia Fordham, Gordon Giltrap, Joss Stone..., World - Baka Beyond and other more obscure stuff...
Movies I Love: Lost in translation., Secrets and Lies, The Colour Purple, What the bleep do we know, Errrr....., ...I'm really not very good at remembering the names of films, although I know what I like at the time that I see them, if you see what I mean! :o) Anything poignant or inspiring, definitely not violence, horror, blockbusters., Have recently joined www.spiritualcinemacircle.com so hopefully will be able to add some inspiring titles to my list of "Movies I love" very shortly :o)
TV Shows I Love: Rarely watch TV as I don't own one. Like to listen to the radio occasionally though.
Books I Love: Too many to mention but they tend to be inspirational or psychospiritual personal development type books by people like Thich Nhat Hahn, Jack Kornfield, Pema Chodron, Mark Epstein, John Welwood, Marian Van Eyk McCain, Ken Wilbur.
Places I Love: Woodland, hills and rugged coastlines., My "Sustainable Urban Home in-the-making.", In the arms of those I love and who love me.
Quotes I Love: Too many to mention...but probably my favourite is "Be the change you want to see in the world" Gandhi.
