This is just one of numerous articles on fluoride over many years, but an interesting one I thought http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2007/11/22/fluoride-damages-your-brain.aspx

My grown up boys were brought up on fluoride-free toothpaste and we don't drink tap water - they have never had tooth decay or mercury fillings. Their teeth are brill!

I wish more people were aware of this toxic stuff.

Hi Ann,

Good for you! It is startling to dig a little deeper. We've used flouride free tooth paste for many years, and drink only spring water... unfortunately I grew up using toothpaste with flouride in it!

There's an 30 minute documentary called 'The Flouride Deception'. It is an interview with Christopher Bryson who is an award-winning journalist and former producer at the BBC.

I think the fluoride toothpaste is much more worrying than the water, which only has one part:one million in it. May I ask which unfluorided toothpaste you use?

I think this depends on the flouride. The flouride in the water in NZ comes from the inside of aluminium smeltors chimneys in China. I don't think thats very healthy (sic). I don't know where the flouride in toothpaste comes from.

That's another interesting link to keep hold of Trinity. At least you have had all these years without fluoride now.

Helen, the toothpaste I use is Kingfisher Fennel. It is sold in some supermarkets also, so easy to get hold of.

We've used Kingfisher fennel too. Ones we've used lately include Green People, Urtekram, Aloedent... There are lots available in health food stores these days compared to many years ago when choice was limited.

Yes, atleast there's that ;)! And thankfully my son has never used flouride toothpaste. I swtiched over about 13 years ago after an intuitive whiff that it wasn't good for us without really understanding much about it. It's very interesting to see that none of my friends use flouride toothpaste either, and seem to have outstanding dental health.

Not only flouride, you need to find toothpaste, soap, hairwash etc without sodium laurel sulphate and proplolyne glocol, both used a foaming agents, but in commercial instances used as degreasers.

Recently at a Tai chi event I met a dentist ...sorry a Dental inspector no less!.. who thinks fluoride is the Beez neez.

I thought i would test how far her Institutionally induced madness went by recalling a conversation I had with a fellow dental inspector when I wanted my amalgams removed .I said to her did she realise that mercury is the 2nd most toxic metal to plutonium and that its vapours can be monitored leaving the tooth...to say nothing of the fact that after so many years half the mercury isnt there any more.....to which she replied Yes..... but it makes very good fillings( the inference being we should continue to use it......) Well ..what can I say.!?

Hasten to add she seemed to agree with her fellow inspector .......!!!!!!!!!!
(Too much of the vapours me thinks .)

Anyhow they are now also putting aluminium in your crowns as its a cheaper alloy and this will become proportionally greater as the gold price goes up . I actually found that out by just following a hunch . I rang the dental technician my dentist uses to check what they alloyed it with ...and was gobsmacked to find my hunch was true , because aluminium is relatively dirt cheap. So in accordance with "market forces" , to be" competitive" they use it.

So out with mercury in with the aluminium....somethings never change hey.

Oh and before I forget the reason for writing ...the best toothpaste we have EVER used and we've done kingfisher/ Uncle Toms/Aloe bla bla is Propolis toothpaste by Comvita from NZ ....your part of the world Jon .

Didn't know about that toothpaste John, I will check it out. Thanks.
Aluminium instead of mercury, wow, isn't that great, so aluminium poisoning is less detrimental or something, wow, great of these people. Their stupidity never ceases to amaze.

Good point. That is what drew me to Green People and Uttekram who seem to avoid sls etc.

Just wanted to share with you all that i use Neways toothpaste which does not contain fluoride or SLS. I have 2 young children, my little boy who is 5 and my little girl who is 3. I have had a nightmare with both the school and nursery about toothpaste. Our schools are now putting our children through dental programs (I'm all for this as I think it is obviously really important to teach our kids to make sure they brush their teeth), but when I told the school that I would like my child to be part of the program but I would hand in some of my own toothpaste, I was told that my little boy could not be part of the program unless he was using the dental program toothpaste which contains both SLS and 1000ppm fluoride. Needless to say I told them he would not be using their toothpaste. I was disgusted as not only did it mean my little boy was almost being singled out but what has happened to freedom of choice. Fortunately, there were another 2 mums who had the same issue so the school eventually had to allow us to use our own toothpaste. Did you know that these dental programs and health visitors are not only recommending that fluoride toothpaste is used but that it must contain no less than 1000ppm of fluoride. I have only been using non-fluoride toothpaste for a few years when I became aware of the issues and I always had problems with my teeth in the past. Since using the Neways toothpaste, I have never had a problem and both my childrens teeth are also perfect. I would also never use anything else which contains SLS or propylene glycol and that is why I have chosen to use Neways products. I have looked a few other companies who market organic products but unfortunately some of the organic products still even contain SLS and Propylene glycol. Anyway thanks for listening to my story.

Much love to everyone
Gillian

How awful Gillian that you had to go through all of that!

I am so glad you are aware of SLS and propolene glycol and that you stood up for yourselves. Ignorance is so tiresome!!!

I feel I should correct myself!!

I didn't mean those that were not aware of SLS or propolene glycol were ignorant, but those that support and promote these things blindly. Vaccinations are another example, but that's another subject!
