I'm absolutely delighted to report that Holistic Local has just had it's most successful month ever (from a financial point of view), and for the first time in a long time I have some real money to invest back into the site which means I can start making some improvements. The site has been pretty stagnant in terms of new features and improvements for about 3 years now.

I have an excellent freelance programmer working for me at the moment who has been working hard all month improving the Visionary Membership offer and we still have a bit more to do, but once that's complete we can turn our attentions to the rest of the site.

So, what improvements would you like to see? What can we add, or change to make your experience of Holistic Local better and more useful?

I look forward to some interesting answers

Thanks
Andy

My suggestion, you, Andy, telling us what you are doing in Peru.
P.S. Congrats on the success of HL.

That's very good news, Andy! :)

I would like to suggest a search facility. I've spent ages trying to find a thread about foot problems that was posted here (still can't find it - where is it please somebody??) so that I could pass it on to someone who has the same prob. And we might have got another member!

Not everyone makes their posts in the right section, which is why it's difficult to find certain threads at times when we need to.

I am glad you found it Helen...if it is the Serrapeptase you are thinking about, since writing I have heard of so many other stories about how effective it is.

Andy...will give it some thought over the weekend and let you know if I come up with anything mind-blowing!!! :D

Hi Jon!!:)

Ann, I posted the link to the Morton's Neuroma thread as a reply to a question on the WDDTY website (I think it was) and that's why it's had almost 11,000 hits!! :)

Yes Andy that is such good news about the site. I’m sure your dedication will pay off. Thanks for asking for our input. I don’t really have a problem with the site but because you asked I feel to contribute something.

I realise that the Forum is designed to allow us to post whatever we want but I was ‘wondering’ if it is of any benefit to have topics more defined and concentrated by, say, members having their own mini-group to which they invite friends- like Facebook does (which would incorporate what Matthew was asking for) along with the facility of being able to receive or reject email postings.

E.g. I am really interested in Soul Consciousness; another member might be interested in treatment for a specific illness/UFOs/2012/ whatever. From the friends we have made, and their leanings, maybe we could invite them to join and contribute–and then if others are interested they too could add comment by joining the group.

Just a thought.

Hi Suzanne

Thanks for your comments, a groups feature has been on my wishlist for a few years and is now in the works. Hopefully it should be available in the next month or two.

And Helen, I agree a search function on the forum would be a good idea and probably wouldn't take long to implement, possibly only a few hours of work. I'll ask my programmer about it and hopefully we can have that very soon.

Thanks
Andy

Notification of private messages would be good too! I've just discovered some that have been there for weeks! :( It looks so rude when they're not answered!

Hi Andy,
I have not used the site much and have returned for the first time in a long time.
One or two basic things strike me.
I had a look at the Classified section, Jobs in particular. The postings aren't dated- it would be helpful to know if they are still current or was someone posting 2 years ago.
I also can't find my inbox, when I first logged in I saw there were a few messages.

Very mundane things to focus on....but I hope they are useful too.

Best wishes

Sandra

Hi Andy,

Thank you for this site!

I have been instrumental in supporting 'Soul Groups' in different parts of Europe.
These are monthly meetings of broadly like minded souls who have a common interest in they are awakening to the holistic nature of the Universe and "all that is".

This interest takes many forms and now that I as a new member am becoming more aware of your site, I will post details of our local monthly meetings here.
Each month different practitioners talk to the group about their modality. Other soul groups meet to meditate or have gong baths. The cost of these activities is minimal and the major benefit is to be in a group energy for those who initially feel isolated within the home or traditional family.

With grace and light,

Namaste,

John

Hi Andy,

Not sure about groups.

I quite like the idea that, at Holistic Local, we can explore each other's take on life the universe and everything, taking what we need and leaving the rest. Personally, I see myself as a bit more than a collection of labels (the whole being definitely more than a sum of its parts!) and I would not like to find myself excluded from discussions because it was perceived that I was too rationalistic, or not rationalistic enough.

Just a small thing - it would be good to have a Reply button on each post so we don't have to go to the top of the page.
