Thanks Andy, where do you find these informative videos? Your one is about turning salt water into drinking water, but I noted some sceptics who had blogged on that site did not believe it.

I believe this technology is well known and has been available for ages.

The other day I read where the astronauts were turning their urine into drinking water - I know which one I would prefer!!

Unfortunately I can't find my source - this is the nearest I can get.

"Also in the cargo is a water regeneration system that distils, filters, ionises and oxidises wastewater - including urine - into fresh water for drinking.....The equipment has been packed inside refrigerator-sized racks that require forklifts to lift them on Earth but in space, a single astronaut can move a rack around with little problem." BBC.
