Does anyone know of a herbal or holistic way of healing a benign pituitary tumor? I was diagnosed in 1998 and have been on medication ever since. I would like to stop taking the meds if I could find an alternative. Since the tumor is in the pituitary it has also affected my thyroid gland causing it to be hypoactive and I am taking synthroid 112mcg for that. I really dislike the meds lately or should I say they dislike me, I get terrible acid reflux and heart burn after taking the meds, as well as stomach upset.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Ree,
I don't know about the tumour treatment but I suffered badly with acid reflux for many years and found once I started with Reiki and other energy work it improved considerably.Hopefully you will find some improvement also.

Hi Ree, welcome to HL. Can I ask why you are taking meds for a benign tumor? A good herbalist or homeopath should be able to help you. Please see my comment on the other thyroid thread.

Thanks guys for the information. Jon in response to your question, I have been taking medication up to now I had not heard about Reiki or any other type of therapy like this. I was going to a regular MD who prescribed the medicine, which has helped. But recently I have been doing research on alternative medicine and therapies. Thank you for the reference to your article on thyroidism.

Jon, I read the other thread you mentioned. As you said the pituitary is linked to the thyroid. Though the tumor in my pituitary is benign, it was growing and affecting the thyroid function, causing levels to be low. With the meds the MD prescribed, the tumor shrank, yet did not leave completely. I am going to have to check in my area for therapy and a herbalist. I am new to this area and also new to holistic medicine. Thanks again!
