I just deleted Zannie's post because it looked too much like an advertisement (I don't like advertisements in the discussion forum) and then realised it was for free seminars that may have been very helpful. (Although I've no doubt there was an upsell for paid products and services).

Anyway, I would prefer to keep adverts out of the forum, but I know from experience there is a some really great and useful free material out there.

So do people mind if this is promoted in the forum?

I just want to get clearer on what the policy should be for this forum and I feel that should be developed by people who use it.

Thanks
Andy

ok, I understand why it was deleted, and if it goes against what you want to see on here, then I for one will abide by your preferences

Yes, that's true (although many are from a time when I was less strict about this). I guess my main issue is that we aren't yet able to filter out any posts on the 'recent forum posts' section on the homepage. There are quite a lot of Holistic Local members who specialise in business coaching, probably many who also provide free information. So if I allow one person's advert then I really have to allow them all, and I just don't want the forum ever getting clogged with a neverending supply of ads, even if they are for useful free information.

I am actually about to announce an 'announcement service'. I've had an email ready for days which I intend to send out in the next few days.

I also plan to roll out some more websites aimed at business where there definitely will be places for people to advertise. So watch out for some new stuff soon! :)

Andy, thats what I was going to suggest, a special place for those announcements, that way we are all happy.

A timely post! I'm about to put up something about free seminars for London based seminars for practitioners. They're being organised by one of the boroughs but are open to businesses across London. (I'm delivering one seminar.) Where would you prefer this to be posted?

We already have the Events, Courses and Marketplace sections - is it best to stick to those areas?

Did you send out that email, Andy? If so - I didn't get it! ;)

Yeah I sent it out last Thursday I think. It probably didn't get past the spam filters or something. Anyway, I'll be creating a page about it in the next few days and will link to it from here in the forum when it's ready.
