Some of you may have heard of Timothy Freke - Lucid Living. I do admire his work with awakening people to the Christ consciousness within. But if I had the opportunity to talk to him I would like to question him on his assumption: Was the ‘original’ Jesus a Pagan God? He goes on to say in his book the Jesus Mysteries -
What if there were absolutely no evidence for the existence of an historical Jesus?
What if for thousands of years Pagans had also followed a Son of God?
What if this Pagan saviour was also born of a virgin on the 25th of December before three shepherds, turned water into wine at a wedding, died and resurrected at Easter, and offered his body and blood as a Holy Communion?
What if these Pagan myths had been rewritten as the gospel of Jesus Christ?
What if the earliest Gnostic Christians knew that the Jesus story was a myth?
What if Christianity turned out to be a continuation of Paganism by another name?

I have studied the Life of Jesus for twenty years and I can understand where he his coming from: the tie-ups; the additions; the interpolations

I have added an old perennial that many of you would have seen. But I use it only to suggest that following Freke’s assumptions ... maybe JFK didn’t exist!

Any numerologists out there with some answers??

Interesting stuff Suzanne. I have seen the Kennedy info before, but I have not seen many discuss Jesus the way you have. Did you know there is a legend in Norse mythology about one of there gods who died and came back to life?

No, John, I hadn’t heard of that Norse God. Not that clued up on mythology – but would like to be as I think there are lots of hidden truths therein.

I do not intend or want to offend any Orthodox Christians, who take everything so literally, but I don’t see the resurrection, if it was a true event - and I believe it was - as such a big deal. With what we know today there are so many examples of people being pronounced clinically dead and then reoccupying their body. There are so many reports of out of body experiences – near death experiences; of people pronounced technically dead, from drowning or an accident or on the operating table, no heart or brain functions - and then being resuscitated. For the advanced master soul that Jesus obviously was, maybe like any advanced yogi he could control the pain and reactivate his body with the help of friends ‘above and below’.

And maybe the story of Lazarus, too, if you are familiar with it, was resuscitation. Maybe Jesus was able to breathe into the nostrils not only his air, but the life-force: the spirit with which he was one with, because without spirit/soul we are physically dead.

I’d better stop here or I’ll be rambling on, because I suppose what really matters at this time on the planet is the message “Go Within’ – not the politics, which I have always been so interested in.

Suzanne, there is a theory about Jesus, and that is, he was given poison that would stop his heart, then in the cave, given the antidote, interesting.
Also, he travelled with his mother and wife, Mary Magdalene, to the west coast of France, then to England.
Mind you, I am not sure about any of this, but then again, who knows?
Saul, Paul, had the church that Jesus belonged to destroyed, then had 3 of HIS followers write the gospels, interesting theory. Paul was not a nice man, he wanted a church according to Paul, which is the christian church today.
Interesting, hmmmmmmmmmm

I have no problem with that comment, Jon. Absolutely agree. A book worth reading is Micheal Baigent's - ex N.Zer, and co-author of Holy Blood Holy Grail - The Jesus Papers. I agree with Baigent's summary but not with how he came to his conclusions.
All very interesting.

Holy Blood Holy Grail, great book Suzanne, but then again, I am a conspiracy theorist from way back.
