Firstly, Happy New Year to all!

I'm fascinated by 2012 and what I've read about the accuracy of Mayan astronomy, especially considering their 'stone age' technology, culminating in the next age at the winter solstice in 2012.

Other aspects, such as the increase in Earth's cycles as measured by the Schumann Resonance, are equally interesting.

Anyone got any interesting websites on the subject, and/or any reflections?

Always.
I am always interested in when the world, as we know it, will end.

Hi Jon. That's part of the 'debate', as more authors jump on the bandwagon. (A few years back, there were next to no books on the subject; now there's loads, as we get closer to the date.)

The Maya called it the "end time" as each "world" finished, and a new world was ushered in. The Mayan fifth world finished in 1987, and the sixth world beings in 2012, at the winter equinox. We are inbetween worlds, in the "apocalypse", or change/revealing - both individually, and collectively. This means it will be a period of significant change for many folk on the journey.

Time is also speeding up or as some say, collapsing. The pulse/heartbeat of Earth as been 7.83 cycles per second for thousands of years, as measured by the Schumann Resonance. The military have used the Schumann Resonance as a calibration tool for a long time, due to its reliability and stability.

Here's the interesting bit - since 1980 this resonance has been slowly rising and is currently now over 12 cycles per second! This equates to the equivalent of less than 16 hours per day compared to the old 24 hours. People often comment how time seems to be speeding up!

As I understand it, our resonance and Earth's are coming closer together, culminating in 2012, meaning we are closer to being on the same wavelength.

Fascinating stuff, and from the same Maya that somehow managed to create anatomically accurate crystal skulls that would be difficult to achieve with a diamond drill today. Then, they only had 'stone age' technology, so how were they supposed to achieve that??!! Just goes to show how much we don't know about previous civilisations.

Can you explain this more, Chris, I don't understand!? What exactly is the 'pulse of the earth'? And how can what we perceive as 24 hours, be only 16?

Happy New Year, Helen! I'm still learning about all this, but it ties in with my understanding of existence. We are all vibrational beings, and all life has vibrational frequency which can be measured by Newtonian science at atomic and sub-atomic levels.

My understanding (and conviction) says that all life is interconnected, and inevitably, we are 'in sync' with Mother Earth, If Earth's Hertz cycles are increasing, then supposedly, time speeds up. So, if 7.8 hertz per second tied in with a 24 hour day for thousands of years, then an increase to over 12 hertz per second since 1980 would make time appear to speed up. Ask friends an open question - "How does time seem to be passing to you?" Their answers will be pretty consistent, I reckon. There's loads of info if you type "Schumann Resonance" into Google or Yahoo.

2012 is certainly an interesting subject and one that I've read a great deal about from a wide range of different sources. There's a huge amount of crap been written on this subject but there definitely is a lot of intelligent research that indicates there is something important about 2012. However, I don't think we should get caught up on specific dates, or even the exact year. I think the 2012 prophesies probably relate to a window of time that we are now in the midst of.

It's fair to say our predicament is unique in all of human history. Never have we had the capability to literally destroy ourselves and the planet.

Anyway, it's a huge subject. Three books I can recommend are:

"2012: The Year of the Mayan Prophecy" by Daniel Pinchbeck

"Galactic Alignment: The Transformation of Consciousness According to Mayan, Egyptian and Vedic Traditions" by John Major Jenkins

"The Chaos Point: The World at the Crossroads" by Ervin Laszlo

Also see this video narrated by Daniel Pinchbeck

Mesoamerican calendars worked on the principle of repetition didn't they.If you study the Aztec 'Tonalpohualli', you'll understand.

Im currently thinking on marketing a 2012 countdown calendar gizmo. At the correct hour on the correct day, the top of the gizmo will swing open like a jack in the box and the grim reaper will pop out and take your head off with the scythe he has been patiently sharpening over the past decade or so!..bound to be a best seller!!. ;)

(The second link says 21 December 2012.)

Perhaps not, Jon! The Wikipedia link gives the date range for the southern hemisphere! It's between 20-23 June.

Hi Chris.......go into Sandy Stevenson website and there she tells you exactly how many hours in the day we have lost. Incidentally Sandy ( she wrote "The Awakener" ) is coming over to England next June to do some workshops
I am organising one in Chesham, Bucks.

I recently discovered, gosh only knows where, I think it was on a science magazine that 2012 Venus gravitational field will effect our Moons orbit. Apparently Venus does this every 60.000-70.000 years and this does mean that we will get some serious freak weather.

Anyone else heard about this one?

(I will go and investigae, maybe I will find out where on earth I heard about it...)

2012 The Shift: : To me it feels like 2012 is about timing and not time, This timing is when the consciousness is at a certain stage of readiness to take over the guardianship of our planet.

Perhaps not a coincidence that the world's ecological worth crumbles as it comes to its apparent end.
