Quick Fix

Friday, November 21st, 2008 9:54 AM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been reading the Endorphin Effect by William Bloom and rediscovering some of the teachings about endorphins that were given in my firewalking training. It is so simple that it is easy to overlook and forget how to create the positive feel good factor that we can conciously create within ourselves.
Here is a simple exercise to create positive triggers for an endorphin rich experience. Remember these exercises are powerful if regularly used and remembered, then what starts as a 'quick fix' can open the door to a much deeper experience as you continue to explore and learn.
The Circle of Power
I want you to feel the best you have ever felt. Right now,  take yourself to a place and time in your imagination where you felt the best you have ever felt, in this lifetime or any other. Future or past, generate that picture in your imagination, take as long as it will to generate a strong image and feeling of that time.
Feel it in your body, really feel the feelings you felt then. Adjust your physical body so that you are sitting or standing in exactly the same way you were then. Breath, and with each breath allow the good feelings to increase. Empower the experience that you are remembering.
Hold the picture in your mind, and give it colour, bright and vibrant. See clearly what you saw when you felt the best you ever felt. Smell what you smelt then, feel all of the sensations, taste the sweetness of the whole experience and make it as real and as powerful as you possibly can.
Then DOUBLE IT! Double that great feeling, intensify the goodness of the whole scene and breathe it all in. Experience it all as deeply as you will.
Now, whilst holding the image and feeling more than the best you have ever felt, I want you to take the thumb and forefinger of one hand and place it around the other wrist.
You are creating a circle of power, a bracelet that anchors this experience into your body. Allow all your good feelings to be held in the bracelet and intend it to act as a positive trigger to access good feelings when you need to.
Now you have a powerful anchor that will trigger endorphins and good feelings. You can use it whenever you need to, simply tap or hold your bracelet and allow it to generate those good feelings. You can empower your bracelet by adding any positive memories and experiences, all the times that you feel great, remember to put it in your bracelet.
Firewalking in Glastonbury
Thursday, March 13th, 2008 3:03 PM
Why Firewalk?
People who attend a fire walk do so for various reasons, and there are as many ways to prepare yourself for firewalking as there are teachers. At Wizard Wellbeing, we use the firewalk as a tool to break through illusions. In our workshops
Then we ask ourselves - If firewalking is possible, then what else?
Why would you want to stand barefoot before a path of glowing hot embers and choose to step forward? Why why would you take that risk for a few seemingly impossible steps?
At least one answer lies in the nature of fire itself. There are few beliefs more deeply ingrained in the human experience than the one that says that ‘fire burns’. Each of us in our own lives has proven it time and time again. Fire burns, beyond doubt. And yet...
And yet for thousands of years people have practiced walking and dancing barefoot on hot coals, and for the most part, without burning.
If you can alter a universal law and render fire harmless- then what is that saying about reality and your role in its creation? What are your limitations, really? What other possibilities remain untapped, unrealised?
Another reason why people firewalk has to do with the nature of fear. In your training, you will learn to welcome feelings of fear and anxiety. It is in the awareness and acceptance of such feelings that our potential is so often brought into expression.
When you learn to dance with the fire in the presence of fear, you learn to deal successfully with fear whenever it arises, so learning to transform fearful situations as opportunities for growth, and to transform fear itself into a powerful ally.
Our experiments, research and experiences with firewalking have led us to the fact that there are only two things required to successfully walk across the fire. Two things that all firewalkers throughout history have in common. First, you have to want to do it. This assumes a certain curiosity - which is what may have brought you to this page. Sounds simple doesn't it? It is. Do you want to walk on fire?
Second, you will need a firm belief in your body's safety. It doesn't matter how you get there, so long as when you step up to the fire, you know beyond a doubt that it is safe for you to walk across. Whatever has brought you to the firewalk, and whatever your intent; this is what a Wizard Firewalk seminar will give you.
