Make Transformations, Not Changes.
Monday, July 30th, 2007 6:13 PM
Most of us fear change, so we stick with our current situations even when we wish things could be different. We want things to change, but we don't want to have to go through what is necessary to make the change.
Perhaps a better way to think about this is to commit to making transformations in your life, instead of changes.
Websters II New College Dictionary defines change as "to make different; to lay aside, abandon, or leave for another." Transformation is defined as "to change the nature, function or condition of." Transformation entails so much more than just making a change. It creates a positive twist on a normally negative action. To transform is to convert the state of the situation into one of new possibility. It creates a new, vibrant energy where our energy was once being drained. To transform is to bring into light and reality the thing we desire.
If we can hold this intention of transformation, we will find passion for "changing" the things in our lives that we are unhappy with. Transformation enlists excitement. To transform your career into one that brings you joy, for example, is exciting, while on the other hand, thinking about changing your job is scary.
See if you can banish the word "change" from your vocabulary and use the word "transform" instead. Notice the shift in your mind, body and soul when you use this new word. Even saying you are going to go "change your clothes" can take on a new perspective. Instead feel what happens when you say, I'm going to go upstairs and be transformed." Doesn't that feel refreshing?
Learn to use the power of your words to your advantage. Words can drag us down or they can uplift us. Which do you choose for yourself?
Tips For Attracting More Money Into Your Life
Saturday, July 28th, 2007 5:15 AM
I'm sure you have heard about "The Secret" and all the buzz around the law of attraction lately. The law of attraction is the most powerful law in our Universe, and most of us live our lives unaware that it is effecting us even in our ignorance of it. One of the most powerful things you can do to change your life for the positive is to use the law of attraction to your advantage, instead of by default. Here are some quick tips to help you do so:
1) Start a "Daily Spending Journal." This is an imaginary spending log because you are not going to log the money you actually spend, but instead are going to log what you would like to spend. Start with $100.00 the first day and "spend" it on something that excites you. The next day, increase it to $200.00, and continue to do that until you get to $1000.00. At that point, increase the amount each day by an additional $1000.00. At the end of 30 days, you should be "spending" $21,000.00. Make sure you "spend" the money each day (don't save it up), and really feel the excitement as you do so. This is a powerful technique because according to the law of attraction, what you focus on is what you get, especially when you add positive feelings to that focus.
2) Keep track of any extra money that comes your way, whether it be a penny you find on the street or a $100.00 unexpected check. The more we put our awareness toward "finding" money, the more we use the law of attraction to our advantage because we are now focusing on finding money rather than focusing on the lack of it. Remember to thank the Universe for sending the money to you as you receive it.
Have fun with these exercises and watch as you attract more wealth into your life!
Live Your Life on Conscious Intention
Saturday, July 28th, 2007 5:14 AM
There are two ways you can live your life: by default or on conscious intention. Most of us live our lives by default, meaning we feel that things just happen to us and so we don't decide what we want our daily experiences to be beforehand. When we live on conscious intention, we set an intention before we do something in order to set forth the outcome we want. We are creators and we are here to create our experience.
Try something today - make a commitment to yourself that you will set an intention before each segment of your day. For example, when you get in the car, set the intention that you will arrive at your destination safely and your travel experience will be free from frustration. Then as you arrive at your destination (lets say it is your job), set the intention that you will have a productive day and that any problems that come up will be easily dealt with. Continue to do this before each new segment of your day.
The power of this is that you will be using the law of attraction to your advantage. The law of attraction is working whether you realize it or not, so you may as well create your experience consciously rather than by default. This practice also helps to keep you focused on what you really want rather than just reacting to what comes your way.
Bringing Mind, Body & Soul Into Balance
Saturday, July 28th, 2007 5:13 AM
Are you suffering from overwhelm and feeling out of balance? In this era that we live in, there is no time to slow down. We are consumed with work and when we aren't working at our jobs, there are always chores and errands to be done. How in the world can we achieve balance in this crazy life?
Let's look at balancing your mind, body and soul so that you can lead a more holistically balanced life. When we live from this state of wholeness, we live from our purpose, learn to access our personal power, and create and achieve goals that are in alignment with who we are. From that place, we will feel at peace with our complete being.
Right now, what part of your being are you hanging out to dry? Are you using your mind too much and not taking enough time to nurture and develop your body and soul, for example? Choose three things that you can do to nurture your mind, body and soul this week (one thing you can do for your mind, one for your body and one for your soul). Take baby steps. Too often, when we do strive to balance out our life, we make our lives more complicated by adding too much to our already busy schedules. Then we fall back into our old patterns because we overwhlem ourselves even more than normal. Keep it simple.
Let's look at your body: Can you make a promise to yourself that you will get 8 hours of sleep each night this week? Or maybe you'd like to focus on eating healthy and natural foods. Maybe you'd like to comit to exercising 3 times this week. Choose one thing to change, and as you do it, instead of thinking about what you "should" be doing, or what you'd rather do, focus on the fact that you are giving your body a gift, that you are finally caring for your body which does so much for you everyday. Give your body thanks for all of the hard work it endures.
Let's look now at your soul: Maybe you'd like to explore ways that you can be true to your authentic self this week. Or you could focus on enlisting your five senses in everything you do so that you experience everything more fully. Maybe you want to read a spiritual book or listen to some music that brings you closer to your soul. You might even like to meet up with your soul in meditation.
How about your mind: Can you commit to changing your negative self-talk into positive self-talk this week? Maybe you want to focus on using the law of attraction to your advantage? Would you like to write a list of life goals? Maybe you have been putting off learning a new skill. You could take some time this week to study that skill.
Make some small steps each week to bring you closer to your whole self. When you do, you will feel uplifted and alive! Even if you can only do one thing, do that at least and continue to do so each week.
