Body Sugaring Hair Removal-better than shaving, waxing, electroloysis or laser

Posted by Tammie on Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 9:20 PM

Professional Body Sugaring is a unique method of hair removal using sugar paste.  The sugar paste is molded onto the skin by hand and then quickly removed with a flicking motion, lifting the hair out of the follicle by the root.  It is far less painful than waxing and leaves the hair in a healthier state. There is never a fear of burning the skin like with waxing because the sugar paste is applied at body temperature  It will never lift the skin because it does not attach to live skin cells.  Professional Body Sugaring leads to permanency. With each treatment the follicle depleats itself and the hair grows in finer until eventually it may not grow back at all.

If you are not convinced yet, here are 10 good reasons to try body sugaring.

10 REASONS TO TRY PROFESSOINAL BODY SUGARING?

1. Does not contain irritating chemicals that harm the skin.

2. Hair only needs to be 1/8 inch, even as short as 1/16th inch can be successfully extracted.

3. Leaves the skin healthier state as compared to waxing

4. Less painful than waxing because the hair is removed in the direction of growth.

5. Professional Sugaring is an excellent exfoliation treatment for conditions like psoriasis and eczema because it only exfoliates dead skin cells.

6. Unlike wax, sugar can be applied to an area several times until the hair is completely removed.

7. Contains 100% natural ingredients: Sugar, Lemon Juice and Water.

8. Sugar Paste is applied at body temperature, slightly warmed so there is never a fear of being burned.

9. There is no cross contamination or double dipping.  The same piece of sugar is used until the treatment is complete before discarding it.

10. Leads to permanency. After a number of treatments, the follicle begins to deplete, the hair grows in more refined each time, until eventually it may not come back at all.

So if you are considering a hair removal service...... get sugared

Benefits of Handmade Organic Bath Products

Posted by Paula on Thursday, August 21st, 2008 8:29 PM

The big business world of cosmetics, bath and body products, soaps has become so IMPERSONAL nowadays that we find ourselves looking for healthy alternatives.  Ingredient lists that we can read and understand are available.  We can appreciate their advantages to our skin and personal well-being.  Here's where handmade/handcrafted comes into the picture.  Well made handcrafted body products go through extensive "people" testing.  In other words, we test our products on REAL PEOPLE, our friends, family and acquaintances!!  We DO NOT test on animals (other than our DOG shampoo bar) We DO NOT use harsh chemicals that can not easily be traced as to what is contained and how they react to our skin, and we are informed in the process of creating small, precise batches for our customers!  If you are a smart consumer who reads labels and wants to know exactly what you put inside and outside your body, you should be aware that handcrafted bath and body producers (us at Rustic Rootz) are also concerned about these issues too!  Most of us are involved with our environment and how the ingredients we use affect the health of our earth.  Handmade bath and body care product makers (Rustic Rootz) take pride in their work and have a sense of accomplishment in producing a "one of a kind" product like any craftsman would.

The next time you read a label on a mass produced soap, shampoo/conditioner, etc..see how many ingredients you actually know or can even read.  Then visit a site or shop that sells handmade bath and body care products (Rustic Rootz) and read their/our labels.  Do you see a difference?  Olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, glycerin, natural organic herbs, organic essential oils, and SKIN-SAFE ingredients are ALL TESTED on handmade products.  It is hard to find a large percentage of items that don't make sense!  This can make for happy skin and hair.  Most if at all, handmade/handcrafted bath and body care craftspeople use ALL of their OWN products.  To their great delight, they find there is NO need to ever go back to DETERGENTS, and HARSH PRESERVATIVES, PETRO-CHEMICALS,etc..  use in HIGH percentages, creating unsafe skin products.  BE EDUCATED, DO YOUR RESEARCH and your KNOWLEDGE will be your benefit!!!

Finding That Book (or other item!)

Posted by Diana on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 6:23 PM

Here's a tip that I want to share because it's something that helps me so much in my everyday life.

I have been an avid book collector (some would say hoarder!) for years and, because like many people, lead a busy life, sometimes my books get jumbled up.  I could spend long, left brain hours sorting them all out but I generally prefer to be doing something that I consider to be a bit more interesting....

The bottom line, though, is that sometimes I need a book in a hurry. It might be to do with the astrology that I'm teaching, or needing a book with a recipe for making dinner in a hurry.  Whatever the case, I sometimes find myself staring at my bookcases and not finding the book instantly (surprise!).

Rather than pull my hair out with frustration (because I don't wish to be a bald woman really) I use this little trick.  I simply speak out loud the book name.  If I can't quite remember the exact name it might even be something like "Jamie Oliver's first cook book" or "Sue Tompkin's book on Astrological Aspects".  But EVERY time I do this, I find the book that I'm looking for literally within seconds,  My eyes or my hand are just naturally drawn to the book, all of a sudden.

And I'm not joking about having a lot of books, honestly.  Yet this works every time.  It's a little technique that can be used for many temporarily lost or hidden items.  I use it even for finding dried herbs and spices in the kitchen cupboard, when I'm cooking.  Why not try it next time you're hunting for something?

Light up your day!

Help for DYSLEXIA - Seeing Spells Achieving...

Posted by The Leading Edge of Life on Thursday, August 7th, 2008 7:49 PM

... www.seeingspellsachieving.com is a program founded by Olive Hickmott and Andrew Bendefy based on the communication tools of Neuro-Linguistic Programming [NLP] that teaches people with dyslexic, dyscalculic, dyspraxic, autistic, ADD, ADHD, and Asperger's tendencies how to implement their existing visual skills to seeing words and numbers.
Since people with the abovestated tendencies are missing the visual reference, which prevents successful spelling, reading, and comprehension of read material, Seeing Spells Achieving gives them logical, common-sense step-by-step howtos of learning to visualize words and numbers.

The learning path begins with demonstrating to the individuals in question that they already possess sufficient visual skills by getting them to visualize someone / something they like, such as a favorite person, activity, hobby, interest, or place. The next step is visualizing simple [initially three-letter] words on their related objects as a single picture in the individuals' mind's eye, followed by reading the word, spelling it forwards and spelling it backwards. The final stage of the learning path, preceded by a suitably long period of sufficient practice of this procedure, is to let the related object go and thus see the word on a plain background as a single picture in the individuals' mind's eye.

The benefits of the program are:

1. improving visual skills as such, [which doubles the memory and retention of spoken and written information]
2. improving spelling,
3. improving seeing words as blocks rather than as single letters, thus
4. improving the speed and flow of reading,
5. improving comprehension of read material,
6. improving comprehension of spoken material, such as lectures, descriptions, etc.
7. improving visualizing numerical concepts, thus
8. improving mathematical abilities,
9. improving orientation in unfamiliar territories,
10. improving navigation and orientation in the course of driving,
11. improving eye-hand coordination necessary for sports, performing arts, etc
12. improving self-esteem and positive self-beliefs of individuals in question

The program is suitable for individuals of any age, with any language as native, and of any social standing and backgrounds. Thus members of the widest rungs of the general public can benefit from working on either one-to-one or group basis in regular, but no more than three hourly sessions that can take place across the UK and abroad.

If you wish to know more, please contact me, a freelance practitioner of Seeing Spells Achieving on +44 7813 547 063 or by responding through my profile on this site. I’m willing to work with individuals of any ages, or groups of children, parents, teachers, SENCOs, ESCOs, employers, employees, and corporate CEOs in need. The sessions are priced per hour.

Thanks for reading this!:)

What is SomaVeda Thai Yoga and Massage

Posted by Aachan, Dr. Anthony James CMT,ND,MDAM on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 7:12 PM

SomaVeda™ Integrated Traditional Therapies

Traditional Thai Yoga and Medical Massage Program

SomaVeda™ Integrated Traditional Therapies: It is more than using a little of this and a little of that! Traditional energetic based systems such as TCM, TTM, Homeopathy , Native American Medicines and Western Medicines such as Allopathy ,Osteopathy Psychology etc. have long been portrayed as being completely at opposition with one another. This has been basically true to the present time. However, it is now possible for us forward thinking individuals to beat our swords we have been using to denigrate and compete with each other into the plowshares which will create the optimum environment for many types of healing experience for our clients. As we move away from a place where the definition of wellness and health is the "absence of disease", we will explore a model which portrays the human patient as a complete whole. Body, mind and spirit cannot be taken or considered as separate unrelated parts of us.We separate them only as mental exercise, for in reality they are one. They are variations in perspective more or less evident as one looks at a person from different angles of viewpoint and prejudice. Their functions and existence overlap and are interdependent, synergistic and sympathetic to a degree such as we only begin to suspect. The body, the mind and the spirit working together create the instrument by which our very soul is manifest and able to interact and to communicate with the material word and the universe of which we are a part. In oriental medicine humans are described as being "conduits" between the twin powers of the Celestial influences and energies of Heaven and the terrestrial influences and energies of the Earth. we are how the Heavens feel wet grass between the toes and how the earth sees the stars. Native Americans simply say "Mitakoe Oyasin" (Lakota), "we are all relatives". This infers we living constituents of all life and related to all life in some way directly.

It is only when we begin to see the energetic potential and the physical manifestations of this potentiality as expressed , that we are "seeing" the real person. There is no such thing as a body apart from the energy and vitality which animates and communicates through it. The Tibetan's say our body is "a perfected manifestation" of our consciousness. Take a corpse for example. No matter how intact or whole or complete, we find a corpse. Resembling a live person in merest form only. The corpse bares a superficial resemblance which diminishes immediately and continues to diminish until the corpse returns to the earth from which it was originally borrowed. We cannot isolate any of the various qualities and energies which live humans manifest apart from the physical body. We call these qualities "Life", and traditional healing medicines have sought to define the nature of this Life force as various energies and qualities of spirit.

In the creation of this new and vital way of health, we will focus on the body as a dynamic vehicle with qualities of life and spirit which create together a matrix of energy. This matrix of energy encourages matter to coalace in a particular way. The end result of this coalescing of matter will be the manifestation of a human being with various attributes evidencing that which makes it up.
1. Shen: The spiritual essence of being. This is the fundamental or vital elixir which calls forth for the creation of life, ultimately manifesting as men and women.The soul.
2. The Matrix Body: Existing as a pure energy field. A field with characteristics common to electromagnetic energy, but of a suspected, but yet to be defined frequency. This Matrix Body is the energetic framework which our visible body emulates. I say to a degree, because the matrix body, per se, is governed by properties of vibrations, and a such has universal qualityties exceeding the limitations of time and space as we commonly know it. Astrology for example is an attempt to reconcile the observance of these universal properties. The construction of this Matrix Body has been better known and described in mans past history than in resent times. For example in the ancient Indian Sanskrit language, the english word "Prayer" can literally be defined as many as 64 different ways. The vocabulary to even describe sublime prin ciples is lacking in the west. Perhaps to paraphrase Lao Tsu, from the "Dao De Jing" commonly called the "Tao", "language cannot encompass, all that there is". However we do have some information and there have been left for us clues. With these "clues" and traditional teachings we use our own intuitions as the ancients did, as well as our modern intelligence to re-invent, co -create the present understanding. We bring the "Science of Life" to the knowledge and awareness of mankind at a time when it is needed the most.

Chi or Prana are the qualities we most associate with the Matrix Body. The medium, qualities and elements associated with the manifestation of Chi and Prana are the energetic anatomy and physiology of Meridian's, Sen, Prana Nadi, Chakra, Acupoints, Channels, vessels, Five Elements, Yin/ Yang and all of the like.

3. The M.E.I.S. Body: The Mental, Emotional, Instinctive and Sexual body. The MEIS body is created out of the interaction between the Matrix body, the Shen or spiritual essence and the Tangible Physical Body (TPB) (the sum of our material parts) and the reality of the environment in which the triad comes into existence. What we know of as personality and psychology of a person is generated here and reflected in the mirror of the Tangible Physical Body (TPB) also known as the Somatic Body. More than this, physical reality may also impart to, or communicate through the MEIS body is various ways. The communication is eventually found reflected in each higher body in turn. We say that the Somatic body is the subconscious mind. It is where the personality and psychology of a persons mind. The Somatic body is the end result of the process beginning with the Shen, Matrix and MEIS bodies interacting with the closest stellar bodies we know of as Sun, Moon and Earth. On a relative scale of vibrational frequency, the Somatic body is the lowest and slowest of all the various bodies. This idea also brings to bear the concept of "We are Many". We call the composite the "Great" body or "Somata Magnifica". We in fact are composed of many overlapping representations of energy, material and frequency which composite for form "I" or "Us". This is appropriate, from the beginning of creation our Great Body has been transforming higher vibrations of one order to lower and and transmuting lower vibrations of one order to a higher.

The TPB is the repository and storage bank for the MEIS body. It is also a material mirror or tangible image reflecting the MEIS's organization. As such we say the TPB is the subconscious mind. It is whee the personality constructs and psychology reside.

The construction of the TPB is well understood and documented in the biological sciences and well known through the study of anatomy and physiology of western medical science. However, no current A& P text describes the functions and components of the human body in relation to its more esoteric, energetic aspects. These are the aspects and qualities which more or less relate to the MEIS body, the Matrix body and the Shen, Astral, spirit or essence being of a person. No clear descriptions of functions will be considered complete until all of these relationships are addressed individually and in a holistic fashion. The need is to examine the role of each component, looking for additional clues as to their place and role in the ray of creation. Enneagram studies may provide a resource for understanding many of these processes and functions of the human organism.

SomaVeda™ is a way of life originating out of a great compassion for the suffering of human beings and belief that through a greater understanding of ourselves we might in the end be of some value. SomaVeda™ is therapy in the broadest sense of the word and not meant to be taken strictly in the sense of rehabilitation. It borrows and integrates concepts and applications from the worlds great traditions of health and healing such as Indian Ayurveda, TCM, TTM, Native American, and Naturopathy. There is no restriction or limitation to the concept of recovering ground or function that has been lost. We explore breaking the common limitations and boundaries on our existence through the medium of healing work. We come before the seemingly insurmountable walls of our paradigms regarding life, health, consciousness, energy and capacity with a conscious perspective. The reason why rehabilitation of disability, injury or trauma is so difficult is that we do not understand what our normal is. Our views of ourselves are fragmented at best. How can a science or an art of health truly hope to re-establish harmony, balance and function when these concepts are not understood correctly if at all? Our western science is only just now beginning to admit to the possibility that there might be other less tangible factors in the physical health of a person other than their specific pathologies! This has been understood and there is evidence of this understanding since time immemorial. It is only in the current age of man that this understanding is not generally available.

The very idea of the energetic makeup of a person should not be an esoteric concept. There exists many different likely avenues which are capable of producing, transferring and carrying or transporting the various forms of energy ascribed to the body. Or as we look at the equation the many simultaneous, overlapping and integrated bodies. The ancient Vedic scriptures for example, made reference to "350,000" Prana Nadi four thousand years ago. The people of Thailand and surrounding areas, in their traditional scriptures relate how 72,000 lines of energy within the body, referred to as Sen, were distilled into a network of 10 primary lines. The Ancient Chinese culture produced documents and teachings used for thousands of years, with similar function. They came up with 12 primary channels and 2 extra-ordinary vessels called Meridian's. They also went further with theories incorporating Transverse Subcutaneous Muscle channels (Fascia?), muscle channels, and connecting vessels. All of these things attempts to reconcile direct observation of "Non-physical" phenomenon of the body.

In one sense we have not seen the forrest for the trees as westerners. Western researchers have been trying for many years to locate some set of nerves or other mechanism relative to, or similar to what is being described as Meridian's, Nadi, Sen etc. One such researcher was Dr. Robert O. Becker MD. Former head of research for the Veterans administration , USA. He postulated and actually demonstrated the existence of what he called a DC Potential Field or Morphogenic Field, which would allow for the possibility of acupuncture as a valid concept , even from the point of view of western science. He postulated , this field operates as a control system through semi-conduction. A phenomena only just now being researched and understood relative to its application to living organisms. Other researchers have brought to bear the magnetic field theories, demonstrating the bodies ability to internally produce electrical, magnetic fields and EMF (Electro-Motive Force).... even variations of fields of varying intensity and polarity relative to specific organs! Western Science, which has been so quick to criticize traditional theories and methodologies based upon them is itself only in the last few years developing technologies and understandings to substantiate what the traditional cultures claimed to know and experience several thousand of years ago. These ancient cultures developed these understanding, not using sophisticated technologies but their abilities of intuition and observation!

We are in a unique position in that at the present time , probably for the first time in history of mankind, we have both. Access to traditional concepts, understandings and methodologies and to the modern, western sciences understanding and view of things. Not to mention that we at the same time live in the most precarious time relating to variety and severity of health issues altogether. The watch words and concepts for SomaVeda™ are respect for traditional concepts and lineage, complementation, integration, application, mastery, community, puja and compassion.

Shamanic knowledge

Posted by Susanna on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 2:26 PM

Do you learn shamanic knowledge best from a teacher or direct from the Source – whatever that may be…?

Do you choose traditional teachings, and if so, which tradition?
Maori, Hawaiian, Siberian, North or South American, African, Australian, European?
Do you choose a tradition you feel ‘drawn’ to?

Here is how it is for me – there’s a time and a place for both kinds of teaching and they can support and confirm each other:

If I choose to learn from a teacher, (having found out something of their background, training and experience), I bear in mind that they (and I) are human.

They will be teaching from the best of their ability, from their training and experience and in the light of their values and beliefs and these may be different from mine. So:
  • My aim is to learn ‘how to’ details, so that I can follow the instructions, practice as long as necessary and test the results for myself.
  • The whys and wherefores: beliefs, theories etc., are interesting background and material to consider. If they are ‘essential’ to learn or do something, I want to know why, and then what I would need to do and for how long, in order to have direct experience/ confirmation of this.
If I choose to learn from spirit guides, plants, animals, minerals etc., then I still want to know their provenance. I still want to know ‘how to’ so I can test it and why, so I can consider it.

If I choose to learn through my own activities and experiences, I have to bear in mind my own filters, blind spots, level of experience and human characteristics.

Coming back to shamanic teachings and different traditions – I think there are universal principles and practices to shamanic work, and there are specific belief systems, traditions and practices. In my view the latter belong to the specific culture, tradition, society and location on the planet where they originate and in most cases this is the only place where they are truly fitting and relevant. Therefore I teach the underlying and universal principles, which can be used by anyone and fitted into their own belief and value systems.

A Review of 'Tarot Magick' training with Phil Callaghan

Posted by Susanna on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 11:24 PM

I ‘dabbled’ with the tarot in my teens but never really took to working with it, perhaps because I thought of it only as a tool for fortune telling and other tools suited me better. More recently I gathered some beautiful packs for their imagery and used them as gateways for journeying, but I never formally ‘learned’ the meanings. Phil Callaghan’s ‘Tarot Magick’ weekend offered to teach much more than fortune telling, so I was interested to see what the weekend would bring.

Phil spent the first day giving us frameworks for easily accessing and interpreting every card’s symbolism. After one day I could now work intuitively from this framework, as everything makes sense and is easy to remember. Just a bit of practice and I could give good tarot readings, if I wished. And Phil has a way of using tarot for divination that makes SO much more sense to me than traditional readings.

I found Day 1 fascinating, absorbing and satisfying, then Day 2 opened up many new ways of working with the tarot, that I loved for their creativity and practicality. He first explained the underlying structure to all magick, in a way that makes simple good sense. He then explained how tarot symbols and images key into stable archetypal energies and can therefore be used to access these energies in a reliable way. This is safer, quicker, easier and stronger than other methods and I love it! - So much so that I have been working regularly with the tarot ever since.

Since much of this information was new, and not, as far as we know taught or written about elsewhere, I am deliberately omitting details of the specific exercises and techniques we learned.

They do have parallels in some of the methods and techniques I teach in advanced crystal healing trainings and that are taught in systems of magickal training. However, in both cases the training path would be much longer – working with the tarot in this specific way is a bit like Reiki versus other energy healing systems – quicker to learn, reliable and safer.

Phil has a wonderful way of opening up possibilities and unfolding teachings so that all the fascinating pieces are clear, logical and link together elegantly in a satisfying whole. If you want to know more about tarot, magick or working with archetypal energies, I recommend this training.

EFT and Stress Relief

Posted by Alicia on Friday, July 18th, 2008 5:21 AM

We all know what stress is. And we’ve all heard what stress does to our bodies. Now and then we even hear about some way to reduce or relieve stress.

Well, more then likely we’ll never completely eliminate stress. Some theories suggest that a little stress is necessary and beneficial. But how do we get stress under control when it becomes overwhelming?

Introducing EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques; EFT is a natural and non-invasive procedure based upon the ancient Chinese technique Acupuncture. Don’t run away yet, there are NO needles… you are safe :-)  EFT is actually very relaxing and most people find it very enjoyable. It is a system of gentle tapping on several points on the face and upper body while utilizing a basic formula of verbalizing key statements.

EFT has an amazingly high success rate and is simple enough for the average person to use on a regular basis for all types of issues.

Now back to STRESS. Or perhaps I should say RELIEF. Because that is exactly what you get when you use EFT in stressful situations. Depending upon the severity of the issue the average person seems to experience an almost immediate decrease in stress and anxiety with only one round of EFT, which takes about 1-3 minutes. In some cases the emotional intensity completely disappears. Even the individuals who don’t completely resolve their stress and anxiety with a few rounds of EFT seem to experience noticeable improvement.

Imagine yourself having a pleasant, fast, easy and effective tool to relieve stress any time. You can have that with EFT and I’d love to show you how. For free information about EFT, go to: http://www.hatherapies.com. To book your EFT session with me, call (715) 297-6864 or email: support@hatherapies.com.

I am about an hour in, but it is worth the wait as the ladies discuss manifestation techniques taught in the book Ask and it is Given.

There was a little phone issue on my part in the middle of my mini session. But I come back... don't you worry :-)  So if you have been interested in how to apply EFT to yourself, here is a great opportunity for you to learn what to do.

Enjoy!

yawning like a hero

Posted by Neil on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 3:17 PM

We meet all sorts don't we. And we've all got our own story to tell. And sometimes that story's inspiring and engaging, and sometimes not.

If you do the uninspiring story thing occasionally that's okay. I mean, I do it too. I think we all do to a greater or lessor extent. We need to. Without the uninspiring and unengaging we can't really get to know the other side, which I think is the side we'd all like to create so we can have a happy - rolling around like a dog in the grass - kind of life.

I think the trick is, not to do the uninspiring, unengaged story too often. When we engage in the mundane and monotony, life has a tenancy to become like the story we're telling.

So, a few weeks ago I was telling myself a whole lot of gloom, when I caught what I was doing. At which point I yawned out loud - which was slightly embarrassing because I was in a long queue at the time.

But in another way that was good. The lady in front of me turned and smiled. "I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that's fed up," she said.

Now I thought this was outrageously funny. Her story was that she thought I was bored of the queue and expressing my feelings. But I was just bored of the rubbish I had going on in my head at that moment. Yawning out loud is my way to say to myself, "Kindly to shut up and tell a more inspiring story."

What's more by the time we got to the front of the queue, I'd become such good friends with the lady, she offered to pay for my drink! How amazing!

Having spent the best part of 8 years writing stories, I know how easy it is to create whatever narrative I want. I know I could just as easily write the victim as the hero.

And that's what we're all doing all day long, writing the narrative according to the role we're choosing to play.

The other morning I woke up tired and fed up. I had this crazy story going on about being 40 in a couple of months and thinking about all the things I should have done by now. And I started to feel depressed - as a pending birthday with a zero in it can do.

But then I rewrote the story. Life begins at 40... look at all these great things I haven't experienced yet! I got on the internet, Googled pictures of what I wanted, made a wish list, then started to rewrite the story, as though it had already happened and I was looking back telling it to my great grandchildren!

I'm not attached to having this outcome either. I mean, I don't mind if things don't work out the way I imagined it. What I do know is that I wanted that day, and every day I live, to be happy and adventuresome.

And that's not to say I'm not grounded in the reality of everything that's happening around me. I'm very aware about my goals and roles and I'm also clear that I'd like to have a damn good time during the journey.

Where are you at with the story and the journey?

How are you?

Posted by Noelyne on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 11:44 AM

How are you feeling right now?  If you are tense and struggling with what you are doing then I give you permission to stop now. Take a deep breath, stand up and go and do something different for a while.  Take a walk in the fresh air, make a cup of tea, go for a swim, phone a friend whatever you need to do to take your mind off the activity that was causing you to choose to feel tense.  That’s right you have a choice!

If you are struggling with whatever it is that you are doing then the chances are that you are focusing on something that you don’t want to do or perhaps are not ready to take action on yet.  Far better to go and do something else and then refocus on the original activity when you feel better prepared.  It may be that you decide not to follow that path after all.

Of course if it’s frustration that you are feeling then maybe you are on the verge of a breakthrough it’s just you haven’t quite found or mastered the next step yet.

Whatever it is that you are doing now make sure you are relaxed and enjoying it.  Your life will be much happier as a result, you will look good (a smile on your face is so much more attractive that a frown) and feel great too.

Expect excitement and adventure every day,

Noelyne

Superheroes and Psychics

Posted by Dawn Carr - International Psychic Medium on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 12:52 AM

As a psychic medium, I can't always control it when information comes through.  Selective intuition isn't easy, so it is much to my family's chagrin when I give away the plot of a movie or ruin a joke by blurting out the punch line.  This isn't something that I do deliberately, but I will admit that I thoroughly enjoy it when I turn out to be right.  Thus was the case recently at the movies....

We all wanted to see "Hancock", the new Will Smith movie about the nonchalant superhero, so we decided to take an afternoon and spend it at the cinema.  Now, my teenage daughter makes it a point not to sit next to me because she knows that at some point during the movie, usually early on, I'll whisper something in her ear that will give away the plot.  My boys don't really care if I whisper to them, but they choose to sit together away from me, so they aren't always within whispering distance.  My husband, on the other hand, enjoys sitting next to me and holding my hand.  He also doesn't mind it when I whisper, as long as it isn't incessant - which it never is.  During the first ten minutes of {ironically} "The Sixth Sense", I blurted out "I know the plot of the movie!"  To which he responded "Well don't tell me!"

The movie "Hancock" captured our attention and kept us amused...and then it happened.  About thirty minutes into the movie, I leaned over and whispered something intriguing about Charlize Theron's character that I received psychically.  I don't think he believed me at first, but as the plot unfolded, he saw for himself that what I told him turned out to be true.  After the movie, on our way back to the car, I shouted "I am the best psychic ever!" - which is something that I like to do when my family witnesses me having a successful psychic event in my personal life without even trying.  Moments like that make me feel like a superhero!

I like to tease my children that I should be on the television show "Heroes" because of my "Psychic Superpower" {my humorous terminology}.  We watch the show every week when it's on, but we still haven't seen me make any guest appearances.  *SIGH*  One day I will be discovered and asked to save the world.  I just know it!  The cheerleader had her chance.

When I was a child, I loved the show "The Six Million Dollar Man".  I watched it religiously and even joined the fan club.  Part of my ten year old brain knew that if I practiced enough, I could also run as fast as a car or jump as high as a building.  I spent every day jumping over fences in the cow pasture behind our house and running up and down nearby hills.  Each day I gave myself a new task to learn and I wouldn't move onto something new until I had mastered the previous assignment.  I was, in essence, my own superhero!  My friends and family will attest to the fact that I was an incredible athlete, but I never quite got as far as jumping over buildings or lifting trucks above my head.  I guess I'll have to save that for another lifetime.

In this lifetime, I get to be "Psychic Girl" and save the world with my intuition!  Okay, so it's not as glamorous as having super strength or even flying, but it does have its practical advantages.  I can find lost things; know things before they are announced; tell people information about their future; talk to people after their physical death {my personal favorite} and so on.  I guess the best thing about my "superpower" is that I use it to help people, which is all I ever really wanted to do.  So, the next time someone shouts out "It's a bird!  It's a plane!" - think of me and remember that superpowers come in all different shapes and sizes.

The Joy of Learning Tarot

Posted by Christiane on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 9:57 AM

If you are interested in learning the Tarot, you can rest assured that you do not need to be ‘psychic’ or possess a ‘special gift’ to be able to read the cards. All you need is the enthusiasm and perseverance to keep practicing. Your skills and knowledge will be reflected in the efforts you put into your studies.

Before you start, however, consider why you want to learn the Tarot. Most people at first are interested in the fortune-telling aspect of Tarot, as the ability to predict the future offers excitement and perhaps even a feeling of power over those, who ask you for a reading. You need to be aware though that the Tarot cannot make any predictions, as the future is not pre-determined. However, it is possible to establish future possibilities or a trend by analyzing a situation’s past and present.

Most of all, the Tarot offers a tremendous potential to better understand yourself. By examining problems or issues with the cards, a more informed decision can be made on how to proceed. Learning the Tarot to get to know yourself is a rewarding and enlightening experience.

The beginner soon realizes that learning the cards can be a daunting task. Memorizing the many different meanings of 78 cards doesn’t seem to be an easy undertaking. But there are ways of learning the Tarot more easily and efficiently. Most Tarot students nowadays learn to read the cards with the help of books or mentors; the latter will save time and money. Check out your local area for courses or look on the internet for contacts; The Tarot Association of the British Isles (TABI) has a list of professional readers, who also offer tuition not only in their local areas but also online.

My top tips for learning the Tarot more efficiently:

• Choose a beginner’s deck, such as the Rider-Waite or Sharman-Caselli deck. Don’t be tempted by the Star Wars or Flower Fairy Tarot deck; you need cards that offer plenty of archetypal symbolism and meaning, so you can develop your intuition.

• Don’t try and memorize card meanings from books. Instead, try looking at each card and figure out the meaning for yourself. The cards need to speak to you. Relate each card to an experience or phase in your life; this will help you to remember its meanings more easily.

• If you need to buy a beginner’s book, choose one that provides plenty of exercises to help you learn the Tarot more intuitively. A good example is Mary K. Greer’s 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card.

• Find yourself a friend to learn Tarot with or a mentor. Sometimes it is hard to get motivated on your own. A mentor will also help you to focus by guiding you with individual exercises and reading material, so you can achieve your goal more quickly.

• Be realistic on how much time you can devote to your studies; Tarot cannot be learned from one day to the next, although it offers insight and guidance the moment you start. Your accuracy will improve in time.

• Have fun! This is very important. Don’t put yourself under pressure. If you cannot invest much time, use the cards for meditation purposes or just reflect on them informally. Pick a daily or a weekly card and see how its image reflects the events occurring during the day or week.

Overall, learning Tarot offers possibilities way beyond fortune-telling. According to Gerd Ziegler, it is the Mirror of the Soul. It reveals your true personality and offers opportunities for self-realization and discovery. May your Tarot journey be filled with pleasant and enlightening surprises!

July Promotion - EFT sessions half off!

Posted by Alicia on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 8:52 PM

Hello Everyone!

I am running an exciting promotion for the entire month of July, all in person sessions are half off! That is right... only $50 for a full in person session.

So if you have been putting off booking your session, now is the time!

Email me today at support@hatherapies.com or call  (715) 297-6864.
(If calling to book your session, please leave a message. I will call you back.)

EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Techniques which is a form of psychological acupressure that used light tapping instead of needles to stimulate traditional Chinese acupuncture points. The tapping on the designated points on the face and body is combined with verbalizing the identified problem followed by a general affirmation phase. Combining these ingredients of the EFT technique balances the energy system and appears to relieve psychological stress and physiological pain. Restoring the balance of the energy system allows the body and mind to resume their natural healing abilities. EFT is safe, easy to apply, and is non-invasive.

EFT has been clinically proven effective (over 80%) for:

* Stress
* Depression
* Anxiety
* Fears
* Phobias
* Trauma
* Abuse
* Grief
* Addictive Cravings
* and hundreds of physical symptoms.

It is the missing piece to the healing puzzle.

* Often works where nothing else will.
* Usually rapid, long lasting and gentle.
* No drugs or equipment involved.

Not ready to book your session, but still would like to experience the benefits of EFT... Download the EFT Manual FREE at my website: http://www.hatherapies.com

Have a great day!

Qi - what is it?

Posted by Tai Chi Nation on Friday, June 27th, 2008 2:29 PM

Qi means life-force and is a word used in Chinese healing methods to describe the underlying energy which gives life to everything.  Similar to "Prana" in Yoga, Qi is essential for health and for all things to have movement and form.  A non-physical, subtle energy that gives rise to all physical matter, Qi is sometimes referred to as the essential force in the universe that gives rise to everything in the universe.

When Qi is not flowing, when Qi is stuck or stagnant, things begin to spiral downwards.  A pure, flowing river supports life but when the water is blocked, things begin to stagnate and rot.  In a similar way, when Qi becomes blocked and stagant in the human body illness and pain result.  To enable the re-establishment of proper Qi-flow the ancient Chinese devised sophisticated yet simple methods to achieve this.  One of these methods is called Qigong whilst herbal medicine, acupuncture and Tai Chi also bring similar results.

 Try these simple movements, breathing naturally and see what effect they have on you:
