10 FENG SHUI TIPS TO SELL YOUR HOME
Here are a few quick tips to help sell your home:
Your front door is the Mouth of Ch’i (energy). Paint your door, if it's in disrepair. Deep-red is always a ch’i enhancing color. Know the direction your home faces and use that directional color to provide more energy: Directional colors are: creamy white—North; stark white-NE; green—East; deep green—SE; red to purple—South; black—SE; deep maroon—West; and gray or precious metal colors—SW. If bushes or shrubs are blocking your windows, trim them below the window frames. This will allow vibrant energy to enter your home. If any greenery is blocking your front door, clear an unobstructed walkway or path to facilitate and bring radiant ch’i to your entrance. Cut and trim your lawn; or, sweep and clean your sidewalk if you live in an urban area. Clear any debris that is on the outside of your home. Store trash and recycle containers in an out-of-the-way space. Hang a wind chime or flag near the front of your home, to attract and disburse good energy. Get rid of clutter; put things in their proper place. Throw away old newspapers & magazines, if they’re lying around the house. Clean and dust all tables and countertops. Freshen-up the bathroom. Keep bathroom doors closed and toilet seats down. Clean your kitchen stove until it shines, as well as the oven. Make sure the bedrooms are picked-up and the beds made. Do not throw clothes in the closet; hang them up. Keep shoes in the closet and out of the way, not under the bed. Light a scented candle, or 30 minutes before you show your home, cook ¼ cup of cinnamon with 1 cup of water in a frying pan until the aroma drifts throughout the house. The cinnamony fragrance will trail throughout your home, like you just baked a wonderful dessert and will suggest a comfortable, at-home feeling to potential buyers.Copyright ©2006 by Dolores Kozielski
