What Sparked Me?

On Valentines Day 1994 the day before my birthday my 17 year old daughter Lucie died suddenly in her sleep, of meningitis. It may seem strange but this changed my life for the better. Don’t ask me how but I always knew that I would lose child.

People were so very kind and many went out their way to send a card or letter, put flowers on my doorstep or phone and just let me talk about her. Each act of kindness gave me a bit more strength and I felt that I was not alone in mourning her.

I decided that life was too short, who knows when we will die? We may only have a split second left. I took stock of my life and started to clear away ‘stuff’ that was a hassle. I then truly started on the healing pathway. I developed as a healer with the World Federation, then I started to study nutrition with Dr Lawrence Plaskett, I gained my diploma in Nutrition followed by further diplomas in Nutritional Therapy, Nutritional Medicine and advanced Nutritional Medicine and studied Iridology as a diagnostic tool.

I had left school at fifteen so I booked in to do GCSE’s in Chemistry and Physiology & Health. One of the tutors told me about the Open University so I then enrolled for a BSc in Science. I covered many things such as geology, physics, biology, further chemistry and advanced mathematics. I then chose to specialise in psychology and six years later I had earned an honours degree. The University invited me to continue with a Masters degree in psychology which I am plodding though right now.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Founder member of the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology.

I love my work, I see clients individually and work in whatever way is best for them be it Natural Medicine, Psychology, Counselling and/or Life Coaching. I specialise in health and have studied morbid obesity for 40 years. I have written 17 Certificated Self-help Home Study Courses. I don’t think that there is anything now that would ‘phase’ me. I’ve sat and cried with people when they tell me their troubles and fears, but I’m proud to say that my clients go away feeling uplifted and reassured. I am in the business of re-empowering people, giving back to those in need.
