SACRAL CENTRE.
The second chakra is known as the sacral centre and has 6 petals. It is orange. Its element is water and its associated sense is taste.
The Hindu sound for this chakra is VAM. It is located over the lower abdomen.
Associated oils are rose, jasmine, bergamot and orange blossom and its crystals are coral, tiger’s eye and orange calcite.
The sacral centre is associated the kidneys, the ovaries and uterus, the large bowel, the adrenals, prostate, testes and liver, as well as the flow of fluids in the body.
It is connected with the ludig or lyden gland.
The back of this chakra is connected with the subconscious mind. This chakra was focussed on in the Lemurian period.
A balanced sacral chakra results in friendliness, concern for others, good intuitive abilities, a good- humoured outlook, creativity and a healthy enjoyment of sexuality and the pleasures of life.
An overactive sacral chakra leads to an explosive, aggressive, manipulative nature, with a strong self- serving tendency with aims to control others.
An under active sacral chakra may be recognised when someone is overly shy, timid, hides their emotions, is anti-social or is overly concerned about what others may think. There may be signs of inhibition, over dependency, lack of self worth or poverty consciousness or a strong streak of martyr.
Physical symptoms of problems with this energy centre include:
PMS. fibroids, ovarian cysts, IBS, lower back pain.
