Can you tell me more about Illuminated Reiki TM?
Illuminated Reiki TM was developed out of my desire to provide participants a more substantial background and foundation in not only traditional Reiki, but in medical anthropology, history of hands on healing, chakra systems and a firm understanding of energetic medicine.
How does your training program differ from traditional Reiki training programs?
I follow the ancient traditions of Reiki from the Ursui tradition, the tradition that I was taught, however, because of my background in color and light therapy, I thought it would be lovely to include guided meditations using light and color as well as offering participants wisdom about the energetic principles of healing. I am also very well versed in ancient healing rites so that area is also included in both programs.
In Level One of Illuminated REIKI TM, self-healing is fundamental because participants need to truly understand how to work with energy systems of the body, and I want them to learn valuable tools for their own self-healing.
Why do you think self-healing is so important?
I think that often as healers, we tend to forget our own needs since we are in a “service oriented” profession. The concept of the “wounded healer”, those who are wounded being drawn to help others is often the case for people who choose to work in the healing professions, however, healers often forget their own needs. I also believe strongly that until you are able to take care of yourself, that you aren’t really in a emotional and spiritual position to work with others. That is another reason why I developed the second level for Illuminated Reiki TM, Level Two is more advanced and the concentration for this program is for working with others. I believe this is invaluable training for those who work with clients or patients in their professional lives.
Can you tell me more about the Illuminated Dream Healing TM program?
Last year I taught a course I developed in Ancient Healing Rites for Pacifica Graduate Institute for their depth psychology program. The ancient traditions of sacred dream healing are extraordinary and I wanted to create a program to help people access their inner wisdom and learn how to work with others.
